Wonderful rainy day with Alana and Tim at Paradisus Palma Real in Punta Cana. Absolutely amazing resort, great organization and my first American clients – they rocked!

I had a priviledge to capture a wedding of Bev and Manuel at the Iberostar Laguna Azul in Cuba.

A couple days after their wedding we met back up with Shannon and Kevin for their day after session.  They’re a great chance to use locations that might not necessarily work on the couple’s wedding day in case the dress gets a little dirty.

We shot just outside of Playa Del Carmen at the ruins of the old shipping port.  Shannon and Kevin had no problems climbing on the old ruins or sitting / laying in the dirt.  After shooting for about an hour we took a break and went to Senor Frog’s for a quick drink while we waited for the sun to set (the staff treated them to a few shots and serenaded them with a song called Happy Wedding – see below) and then ventured into the surf for our last set of shots.

At the beginning of April we had the opportunity to travel to the Mayan Riviera with Shannon, Kevin, and their families for their destination wedding at the Barcelo Palace.  It was awesome to shoot in a completely different setting than we’re used to as we’re normally dealing with mountains, wide-open prairie, or exploring in the city with our clients.  Shannon & Kevin decided to do a first-look and gave us tons of time to explore the Barcelo Palace with them before their ceremony.  Later in the evening as the sun was starting to set we stole them for a few pictures by the ocean.  I think they thought we were going to the beach we detoured to the rocks where the surf was breaking and it made for some awesome shots!
